  I Think That I Chose My Parents.

  do you believe in reincarnation?.

  i dont think i believe in it in the same way that most believers do, which is that we keep coming back in different fleshly bodies until we have achieved perfection.. i do, however, strongly suspect that we may well be spirit creatures who find it necessary to inhabit a fleshly body from time to time, and that this entails us having to leave behind most of our past memories.. i say most memories, because many people seem to have some vestigal recollections that don`t seem to fit in with earthly experiences.. i`m pretty sure that i chose my parents!

  i have a recollection of being shown a young and kind couple through some form of astral telescope and choosing to become their son.

  This post is becoming a debate synanymous to proving whether or not god exists. . .

  Here we are debating whether or not psychic abilities are real or not. of course we are going to have opposing views. The nonbelievers want hardcore facts, the believers could care any if they are believed or not, they know what they have experienced. There are valid points to both sides of the argument. . .

  When a born again claims that the holy spirit has decended on him and shown him the light, do we accept it or do we think he is nuts? When someone claims to have seen a ufo do we judge them? when it was brought to our attention that the WT dabbled in the occult did it make sense or did it take us into denial?

  It all comes down to tolerance and respect, i dont think anyone here is trying to change anyones opinion on the matter, most of us here are strong, fairly intelligent and open minded individuals, in search of good subject matter to discuss, wanting to expand our horizons.

  I think the attacks should be saved and the words thought out before submiting them to the board, that way saving the bickering and keeping the post in focus with the subject. . .if not we may as well put on our blinders go back to the hall and highlight our watchtowers. I see nothing wrong with a little speculaton and hypothesizing now that we are able to without the guilt trip of doing so. The name calling and intelligence knocking only shows the lack of compassion and understanding for what we have gone through, perhaps it even reflects a tad of hostility, immaturity and ignorance that may remain.

  I personally am a believer if my posts havenot given it away, but i am not blinded by the charlatans that tend to exagerate the gifts that we as humans were given.

  Pete A. Sanders, Jr. wrote a book based on his study at MIT [Michigan Institute of Technology]. It is a scientifically proven method for harnessing inborn psychic powers. Through his study of biomedical chemistry and brain science, he developed techniques along with his associates to locate and access at will the 4 psychic reception areas.

  There is knowledge that is being discovered through quantum physics which interrelates with theories in metaphysics that at one time were only speculated, now these have basis in science.

  keep getting a kick out of that, not that im instigating any type s&m activity . . .

  anywho, The Last Temptation of Christ was fabulous and Peter Gabriel's score was excellent, it took me a couple of sittings to get through it but the message was right on, partially because of the time of night i started watching it, indeed it is a bit slow, but very well written. . .

  Unanswered: Totally political i agree 1000%, honestly i am coming to the conclusion that if indeed Satan and Yahweh are at odds, simply to give these energies a name, religion is the way that satan keeps people from the truths of the enlightened men that walked our planet over the centuries. . . .

  PS if you like Anne Rice, Memnoch the Devil, has an interesting angle on the relationship between god and the devil, sometimes fiction is louder than fact, check it out. . .

  I see little good left in WTS

  i think most of us accept that the wts has done some good, but as the years pass, i find that the good i thought they did is getting less and less, and more importantly, the harm caused is getting greater than i could possibly imagine.. you continued, "can we reject what they have pressed to the world: god has a name, his kingdom is to solve mans problems, the earth is to become a paradise as god purposed, man will live endlessly on earth as intended, those who died will return in a resurrection of the dead rather that burn in hell, and this good news is to be preached in all the earth.".

  at this point in my life, after 25 years of being a jw and now an ex-jw, i find their message, its very root concepts, pure fantasy that may not necessarily god's will.

  I am really glad that you are here. Cause this is the second time i come across one of your responses, and im sure its not your fault, but you are in dire need of brain drying, all the water used to brain wash you is making your head heavy and making you sound, well . . .
  it is obvious what you sound like. and now that i know exactly where you stand, i really hope that your you can muster the strength and knowledge to back up the foolish remarks that are leaking from your mouth. . .

  three things for now before i come back with some interesting discussion material:
  1. reincarnation requires much less faith than the beliefs handed at the borg-dom halls, sit in nature for a few hours and observe the NATURAL cycle of interaction. . .
  2. the only thing that is concrete about the bible is the fact that it is written down on paper and it is bound at a printing press,
  3. most if not all of eastern philosophy and religion support the idea of a transmigration of souls (another term for reincarnation), oh yeah, Plato, Hypocrates, Pythagoras, Socrates, these names sound familiar? they backed up the concept also, and while we are here, the term read as 'resurrection' has a possible connotation to the term 'reincarnation' due to typos and mis-translations it is highly possible that these words are interchangeable, but dont take my word for i do the homework. . .

  ill be back with some interesting shite for you mate. . .

  Englishman: Thankyou for having the cojones and starting this thread. I agree with you, we are taught to need physical proof, and to have faith in the unseen and what is to come (seems like a contradiction yet again), yet when we experience such 'phenomena' seems like all faith is lost, and all is to be quickly dismissed,
  I have a hunch that these occurences are the things Jesus refered to when he said for those to have ears to listen and those who had eyes to see. . .
